Nature Writer | Environmental Educator
science Engagement Specialist | Native Bee Advocate
I was always the kid rescuing Christmas Beetles and moths from inside the house. A fascination of science and curiosity for creating sustainable futures lead to me achieve a Bachelor of Science (Honours) majoring in Human Geography from the University of Wollongong in 2005.
Since then I have spent almost twenty years managing environmental education and science engagement programs for local Councils, state government and independently. I thrived on coordinating programs reaching thousands of people, like Sustainable Shellharbour and the Australian Museum’s Sydney Science Trail events. I embarked on my own adventure in sustainable suburban living and have opened my home and garden for Sustainable House Day.
Now I am focused on nature writing projects and independently delivering environmental education and science engagement activities - with a special focus on Australian native bees!
I have the privilege of living and creating on Dharawal Country. I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this special place between the Illawarra escarpment and the sea now known as Wollongong. I pay respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations people living in the region.
